23-24 BSWD Overpayments
I have noticed that we have more overpayments then usual. I send very clear reminders of due date, due dates for receipts are on the approval letters/emails, and we send reminder notices accordingly. Nothing on our end has changed, has anyone else noticed this? I have also noticed that more students are submitting receipts for items purchased after the study period end date. Again this information is shared with students in multiple types of communication that items are to be purchased prior to the study period end date. Funding was provided to these students well before the end of the study period.
We typically send very few files to BSWD collections. We don't have a large number to send but more then usual.
Just wondering is anyone else finding this?
I have noticed that students despite being given approval notices with instructions, and emails in term notifying them on the need to submit receipts by end of term that yes there is an uptick in students who are purchasing after the term end date. So far fortunately these students applied again for OSAP and most have submitted a new app form to extend. Though I am betting some won't. I have not been sending more to Collections yet but the trend may change once Summer is over. I do know our DSO is swamped so they may not be assisting students whose disability may need additional attention as they might otherwise so thats the only kind of change I have noticed.
