U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs funding approval

Hi OASFAA Friends! Just wondering if any institution can share any experiences you've had in getting Foreign School Program Approval for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs funding. We've just had a studnet/family surface to request funding, but we aren't currently an approved institution. We are submitting the approval package now, but don't have any sense of how long approval typically takes, or whether the actual administration of the program has hidden complexities we neet to consider. The student wants clarity on timelines we can't provide, so if anyone else has an idea, we'd love to hear about it.

Thanks!

Seneca has been participants for many years. However just this past year VA revoked our approval because they will no longer fund experiential programs that have anything other than in person traditional models. Which essentially makes all of our programs ineligible because they are hybrid/flex. If you go forward with it, it's been easiest to have one person as the sole contact person for students. That person manages the online enrolment manager portal with VA and all aspects of US VA.

The application process to get programs approved is a nightmare. It used to be much easier, but they have since made it very difficult for foreign institutions. Probably not worth it unless you are targeting that market and have a lot more students.
