Reset Pass/OAN Retrieval

I'm not usually involved in this process so I never know what to do in situations when there is no name.

You search in inquiry and can't find the student. You search in reset pass/retrieve OAN by SIN and a record comes up, but there is no name. The student assures you they received OSAP in the past (whether older and not on one-key or from a private school who hasn't authorized info sharing so you can't see them), so a SIN deletion is not an option.

They are in your office with valid gov photo ID and SIN. Do you give them info if the SIN matches, even with no name, OR do you do the form and have them mail it to TB to sort out?

that's what I did with my most recent case, but I do also recall way long ago providing the student with the info. Since a SIN can only belong to one name and if the student provides their SIN card where the number matches the system, I didn't see the harm in giving them their info. Not sure why I did the opposite this last time, maybe MCU is making me too hardcore or maybe I don't want an entire presentation created about me again ;) haha

I guess this is something to ask
