OAN SIN Documents
Hi all,
looking for confirmation on what others accept as proof of SIN for an OAN reset.
the guidelines are
Examples: Acceptable Proof of SIN Documents
SIN card.
A Government of Canada document that contains the student’s complete SIN.
A letter from Service Canada that contains the student’s complete SIN.
What type of government of Canada documents with complete SIN do any of you accept for an OAN reset? Seems more and more students are coming with some type of benefits document from CRA that has their full name and SIN on the document. Not sure if there is a specific type of "government of Canada document" this refers to.

I would second this. When responding to OAN reset inquiries I only advise about the SIN card and Service Canada letter.
If they manage to find a federal gov document that still shows the full SIN I will certainly look at it, but I don't advise up front that it meets the requirement. Kind of like using the Health Card for ID - if they volunteer it, great, but I never bring it up first.
