Caps Removed in FT OSAP Assessment w/ OLSG App
FYI... this is the response I got after inquing why caps were removed in the OSAP assessment in the presence of an OLSG app and what happens if OSAP only (caps) then submits OLSG (will it remove caps?):
The Ontario Learn and Stay Grant was introduced in the 2023-24 academic year and provides upfront funding for tuition, books and other direct educational costs to eligible postsecondary students who enrol in a high-priority program in a high-priority community, in exchange for a term of service after graduation. Further details about the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant can be found in the Ministry’s Ontario Learn and Stay Grant Policy Manual.
To be eligible for SAG, students must have unmet financial need not covered by their OSAP entitlement that can be attributed to direct educational costs (e.g., tuition and fees exceeding ministry caps for the OSAP need assessment). Since the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant covers the full value of direct educational costs, students who receive the grant do not qualify for SAG (i.e., they do not qualify for OSAP-exempt aid).
And
OLSG is intended to cover ALL direct educational costs (tuition, compulsory fees, books, supplies and equipment costs) where these costs are not subject to capping rules. Component caps and overall caps are all lifted from OLSG, as well as the provincial side of the OSAP assessment. Caps were removed in OSAP in order to best align the costs vs. resources calculation for a corresponding OSAP application (costs = OLSG resource). Yes, if a student submits OSAP only, there are applicable caps. If they apply for a corresponding OLSG app, the caps will be removed.

it's now in the 23-24 SAG manual, so if you've recorded TSA as exempt or really anything for that matter as exempt and they are OLSG, they need to be flipped to non-exempt:
p8 of SAG:
