SIN 'Letter'
Happy New Year folks! Not even 2 weeks in and this little nugget came my way from a student today:
Student tells us that Service Canada no longer issues the paper doc as proof of SIN and to access it in their online account.
Has anyone heard of this service discontinuing?
Is that a good idea? Have people in general pulling up their info on their mobile devices that shows full SIN? I don't know about the rest of you, but accessing my Service Canada online account is akin to being set on fire :)
Is the 6 cents it costs (toner and paper) to issue, the issue?

I am personally not asking MCU anything, and do not believe we need to. If the document needs to be shown for some sort of identity verification (like OAN reset or something), then I would accept it shown to me on a phone, for example. If it needs to be uploaded, students can definitely CTRL + P > Save as PDF that page and upload it to the portal. I don't think this requires MCU's approval. Same as you!
