OLSG and OSAP with PC/RST

OASFAA asked: how do we process apps that go from either a non-eligible OLSG to an eligible OLSG program in Winter or vice versa and how the student gets the living allowance for the time between terms?  A 2nd app does the trick so that program details match, but then student loses out on gap funding.  A PC keeps the gap funding, but is the system smart enough to look at base vs PC accounts in order to match the program details?

MCU responded: …as long as schools are entering the program change from a non-OLSG eligible program to an OLSG-eligible program (or vice versa) on the Full-Time OSAP application, they should be fine. The OLSG application dates and program information just need to match the base or PC/RST application (whichever the OLSG-eligible program is under). That way the student will be considered for living costs for the full academic year (as there won’t be a break in studies). This is consistent full-time OSAP.

I think Jeremy assumes that the institutions need to have 2 separate FT applications for OSAP in order to process these situations, but thankfully BU was ahead of the game and already thought about this! PC and RST can be used when students move from non-eligible to OLSG-eligible programs for FT purposes, and as long as the OLSG application program information matches the RST/PC, you’re golden.

While these processing instructions are not directly communicated in V2 of the OLSG manual, it will be addressed in the Technical Briefing Q&As.
