Earnest Student Loans
We have been contacted by Earnest Student Loans because a student has applied for a private student loan with them. The company is asking us to use their online certification portal to certify loan.
From Earnest:
"Our process for certifying loans is pretty similar to other private credit lenders. The school would provide the loan periods, graduation date, certified loan amount / COA, disbursement dates and amounts etc..
I would need to know who would be responsible for certifying loans (name, phone and email).

I have never heard of this provider - has anyone else? Let me know if you have any information. Thanks!

we had a student this year who wanted to use them as well. As a school we have not been involved in any of the U.S. private loan providers. Therefore we made the decision not to go forward with the request.
I did investigate a bit with the company and it was legit and seemed that it would be good to work with IF we had decided to go forward. I would say it you are already working with Private companies this one is most likely ok to start with as well.
