Wholly dependent
Hello everyone, does anyone have a letter on the parent's name stating the dependent is wholly dependent? I wonder if it is possible just copy and paste or type here for me what does it exactly say (the wholly dependent part). I have such a hard time explaining to a student what is needed if I don't know exactly what I am looking for. I have never seen one before and sometimes I wonder if this even exists. Thank you!

The parent of a child who is wholly dependent can claim that child as 12+ WITH a disability, if the parent receives the DTC. In this case the parent should be the student and is trying to claim their child as a dependent because their child is wholly dependent and is 18+. OR the Parent is claiming them as a dependent of theirs (student's sibling) as part of family size because they are the parent on the student's app, but the app doesn't request this type of doc.
But if in your case, the dependent of the student is the one who receives the DTC in their own name, and are 18+, they cannot be included as 12+ WITH a disability, they have to be reported as 12+ WITHOUT a disability, so long as they can still be a dependent, ie. out of HS for <6yrs and enrolled in FT PS or is enrolled in FT HS
