Impact of OW during pre-study when student is in continuous FT studies for Spring/Summer (reinstated files)

TMU has been plugging away, reinstating applications for students who will be continuing their Full-Time studies into the Spring/Summer terms. We have a healthy amount of students that were recipients of OW during their pre-study period (which would be May to August 2024) and when reinstating the base application for Spring/Summer, this information is also copied.
To ensure students were being assessed accurately, I had reached out to OSAP.FAO to clarify whether the system is sophisticated enough to define pre-study as May to August 2024, OR if pre-study was now classified as the Winter 2025 term. Originally, I had received a response stating that since the student is in continuous studies, we should be leaving the information on the file as "Yes" pre-study period government income was received and that would be defined as May to August 2024.
However, when fiddling with an application, I had noticed it was quite the opposite, the system defines pre-study as March 1, 2025 - April 29, 2025 (based on our term dates at TMU):
I wanted to double check if the information was accurate and had reached out to Krista Doran for clarification on this and she provided the following response:
It appears this is a common inquiry amongst other institutions and wanted to share the insight that was received. Hoping there is a resolution for this or some unified guidance on this shortly.
