'Past Deadline' Apps

Does anyone have any proposed language to solve the problem of: I'm applying now for the 23-24 year and the site is saying I missed the deadline!' ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

this is a result of students going 'in too deep', by going to their FT apps (from a prior year) rather than clicking on 'apply for FT'. I get it WAY too much.

I know what I tell them works, but what I'm wondering is if anyone has any solutions to propose to MCU to assist in students not doing this.

anything will be considered to put forward

It's also concerning that they have the opportunity to apply for maybe 3 or 4 years prior. What purpose does it serve to have options for 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23 if all of those years have passed. Disable the buttons!

Anyways, here's the canned response Rachel Appiah on my team put together for this: I can’t apply for 2023/24 OSAP because the OSAP portal states that the 60-day deadline has already passed. What should I do?

The error you are experiencing could be due to the method you are using to create a new OSAP application. When creating your 2023/24 OSAP application, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your OSAP portal.

  2. Submit a brand new application by clicking ‘Apply for full-time’ or ‘Apply for part-time’ (depending on your course load) on the main applications page.

  3. Make sure you indicate that your study period starts in or after September 2023 to ensure you are applying for the 2023/24 academic year.

For a full list of deadline dates, visit Important OSAP Dates and Deadlines. If your deadline date has passed, you cannot be considered for OSAP.
